cultivating hope

Author Paula D’Arcy says that “Healing doesn’t wait until our circumstances are perfect. We can begin to heal and still backslide…Healing opens our eyes to the knowledge that life is fleeting and fragile but still beautiful”.* In other words, healing is not a linear process, but a movement through one place to another and then back again.  We need not wait to be “fully healed” in order to find meaning in our lives.

There is no perfect formula for cultivating hope, but we can start by looking for “arrows” rather than answers. Such an arrow may lead to a question, a conversation, a museum visit, or a phone call…I can help you use these small movements to discern what brings you a sense of healing, and what might be fitting to try next in this season of your life.

A clique we often hear is “everything is possible”.  Ask instead…what is possible today? - Kate Bowler
